The Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada (“CCAC”) International Public Service Announcement (“PSA”) Contest

The purpose of this contest is to help raise awareness of colorectal cancer and how it may be prevented. Entrants are asked to submit their entries directly to our designated contest website. The submissions will be posted on the CCAC page so that the public may vote on the submissions made. The top five (5) submissions as voted on by the public per category (print, video & audio) will be juried by a panel of judges from a major advertising firm and one (1) winner will be selected from each category to win a grand prize of $1,500.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
Eligibility
- The contest is open to all, regardless of age, gender or nationality.
How to enter the contest
- To enter the entrant shall submit a video, print, or audio submission which has as its theme, “Colorectal cancer is 90% preventable, treatable and beatable.” Entrants are encouraged to use the CCAC’s online resources to research topics such as screening or colorectal cancer prevention through healthy lifestyles.
- The submission shall be made online to psa@colorectal-cancer.ca or on the www.ccacpsa.com website.
- A maximum of three (3) separate submissions per entrant may be made.
- The entrant shall include with the submission a list of credits, including the individuals responsible for conception and production, as well as country of origin, any participating organizations (for example, another non-profit cancer association) and approximate date of completion/broadcasting.
- It is the responsibility of the entrant to obtain authorization from the creators, sponsors or organizations associated with the development or broadcasting of the contest submissions.
Deadlines
- The contest begins as of Wednesday, September 1, 2010. All entries must be received by 23:59 Eastern Standard Time (EST) Thursday, March 31th, 2011.
Judging
- A panel of judges from Ogilvy Montreal Inc. will choose a winner from the top entries voted on by the public on ccacpsa.com, from all of the submissions received during the contest prior to the deadline. The decision of the panel will be final.
- The decision will be announced in early April 2011 13:00 EST at the CCAC offices at 5 Place Ville Marie Suite 1230, Montreal, Quebec, Canada H3B2G2 and will subsequently be posted on our website at www.colorectal-cancer.ca.
- The winning entrant will be notified by telephone and/or e mail, the day the decision is announced.
Prize
There will be one (1) grand prize of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500CAD) for each of the three categories, which will be awarded to the entrant for the winning submission. The winning submission will have exposure on the CCAC website www.colorectal-cancer.ca and newsletter as well as at CCAC major events for a period of (1) year.
Publication
- By making a submission the entrant agrees that if they are selected as one of their category’s top five (5) entries their name, photograph and submission may be displayed online for unlimited amount of time, on www.colorectal-cancer.ca and in publicity carried out by the CCAC in connection with the contest, the whole without any further payment.
General
- By entering the contest, entrants agree to abide by the present contest rules and regulations and agree to be bound by them.
- The contest is subject to all applicable Canadian federal and provincial regulations.
- By entering the contest, entrants release the CCAC and Ogilvy International (Montreal) Inc., their directors, officers, administrators, employees, from any and all liability related to the entry, the prize or the claiming of the prize or the publicity arising as a consequence of the contest. In any case the value of any damages suffered will be limited to the value of the prize.
- No prize substitution is allowed, except at the sole discretion of the CCAC.
- The odds of winning will depend on the number of entries received by the contest closing date, but will vary as the winning submissions are subject to the decision of the jury.
- Submissions made will not be returned to the entrant following the contest. No responsibility will be taken for entries lost, misdirected or delayed.
- For residents of Quebec, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of this contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
- This contest is void where prohibited by law.
